This zipper is a separating type which means that once it is installed the two parts of the zipper will separate away from each other and can easily be be reconnected by inserting the bottom tab into the slot and sliding the tab upwards. These zippers are designed for boat canvas and can also be used for jackets, sleeping bags or a variety of other projects. The #10 zippers are the largest of the zipper chain available and function even when wet or covered in snow. The metal tab has two sides so it can be opened whether you are inside or out. Questions?
